Hyderabad have Andhra Pradesh in a spin

M. Ravi Kumar and Ahmed Quadri picked up three wickets apiece in the rout

Visakhapatnam: Andhra opener D.B. Prasanth scored a fine century but could not help his side avoid the follow-on in their Ranji Trophy Group ‘C’ match against Hyderabad at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Ground here on Tuesday. Hyderabad bowler M. Ravi Kumar and allrounder Ahmed Quadri picked up three wickets apiece to restrict Andhra to 369 on the third and penultimate day, in response to Hyderabad’s 522, K.S. Bharat and Prasanth, resuming at the overnight score of 121 for no loss, added only four runs before the former was caught behind off Ravi Kiran by Ibrahim Khaleel.

Skipper Mohammed Kaif failed to have any impact on the score, getting bowled by Ravi Kiran for only 15.Even as wickets fell regularly at the other end, Prasanth went about his task in a calm and collected manner for his 124, off 257 balls and containing 17 fours and one six, before he was run out. Despite his fine effort, Andhra were unable to avoid following on, and made 24 for no loss in the second innings. Quadri was the pick of the bowlers, with 3 for 54 while Ravi Kiran also shone with 3 for 103.
