Hyderabad: The Army authorities have decided to impose the next phase of restriction at AOC centre.
The Gough Road (Secunderabad Club to AOC swimming pool) and Wellington Road, may be closed during the day time as well, from January 1, 2015 onwards.
An official letter released by Colonel Deven Bhardwaj, Battalion Commander to the Committee of Residential Welfare Associations, on Monday, stated, “Even after the passage of nearly two-and-a-half months since the judgement and nearly 10 months of announcing our intent of imposing restriction on civilian traffic, no formal proposal of assistance required from the Army for making alternative arrangements for civil traffic has been received from GHMC, or any other state government agency.
The deteriorating internal security situation and other functional difficulties are increasingly getting pronounced and the Army will have to implement the next phase of restriction, in accordance with the High Court orders.”
The letter, in possession with this newspaper, also states that a team of GHMC officers had visited the general area on October 24, 2014, but the exact contour of any formal proposal for alternative arrangements is yet to emerge from the owing agencies.
Army authorities, however, will continue to provide day time passage to civilian movement on Ordnance Road coming from Safilguda and Entrenchment Road leading to East Marredpally for some more time....
