Andhra Pradesh lands in legal soup
Hyderabad: In a startling discovery, it was found that 26 per cent of land titles in AP are under litigation.
The revenue officials on Monday informed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that of the 69.54 lakh revenue deeds, only 74 per cent have been seeded with Aadhaar.
The rest is all litigant land. Among the clear titles, 94 per cent have been seeded with Aadhaar. The AP government has been linking land records with Aadhaar documents as this will help avoid litigations in future.
In a meeting on Monday, Mr Naidu has directed the officials to simplify revenue laws by April 15, 2015.
The revenue officials said, to overcome the shortage of land surveyors, 4,000 youth are to be trained for three months. Currently, there are 420 surveyors. The CM has also asked the officials to explore the option of outsourcing the survey.
