Realty gets Google Online Shopping Festival boost

Realtors plan to woo online customers with freebies

Chennai: Buying homes online will be the biggest traction of this year’s Google Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) along with a host of consumer items.

Spurred by the indulgence of Indian consumers in shopping online, a number of realtors have lined up to put their properties for sale online during the week-long e-commerce extravaganza.

The third edition of GOSF will be on from December 10 to 12 with over 450 partners offering deals for 72 hours. The festival is expected to attract over 100 million buyers and hence has become the focal point of companies including real estate brands who have tied up with aggregators hoping to attract more eyeballs.

“GOSF has given us great visibility even before it has commenced. We have projects from Akshaya Today, Divyasree Hub6, Sowparnika Sanvi, Casagrande Arena and Yashva classic crest for sale and with good offers fromall of them, the sale looks quite promising during this three-day event,” said A. Sankara Srinivasan, chief operating officer of Realty Compass.

The biggest traction of this sale will be offers up to 30 per cent and a host of freebies which will be revealed only during the sale.

Bangalore realty major Puravankara Group along with its 100 per cent subsidiary, Provident Housing is hoping “to offer unprecedented savings” to customers under the GOSF offer.

Desperate developers, who are keen to pep up sales, are viewing this as another avenue for pitching projects.

The company has put homes starting from Rs 39 lakhs onwards up to Rs 3.5 crores across Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore and Kochi on the online block this year. “About 75 per cent of home buyers begin their search for homes only from the online media and with the help of technology, if we can give them a real time feel, they why should they shy away,” asks Advitiya Sharma, co-founder of Housing.com. The firm also has about 4-5 developers under its fold offering their projects on sale online.
