Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee's foul mouth fuels controversy
Kolkata: Keeping up the tradition of unleashing a foul-mouthed rant against the Opposition, another MP from the Trinamool trained his gun at BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh, who is the grandson of late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
In a reference to the BJP leader, Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee said, “If Lal Bahadur Shastri was alive and knew he had a grandson like him then he would have never married. This man has never participated in any political movement and has come this far riding only on religion.”
Mr Banerjee, who is infamous for publicly making derogatory comments, further took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “In 2019 general elections, people would slap Mr Modi and send him to a lane in Gandhinagar from where he would never be able to come out.”
Slamming the Trinamool parliamentarian, former state BJP president Tathagata Roy said, “It seems that there is a competition among the Trinamool leaders on making derogatory comments. His comments reflect the political bankruptcy of the ruling party.”
