Intermediate exams from March 11, to be held separately
Hyderabad: Bringing to an end the suspense over intermediate examinations, the Andhra Pradesh government said on Monday that it would conduct the exams separately from March 11, without the involvement of Telangana.
"We have made all the efforts (to jointly conduct the intermediate examinations with Telangana). I spoke to the Telangana minister. Our secretary spoke to their secretary.
Our chief secretary spoke to Telangana chief secretary. Since it was not resolved, we brought it to Governor's notice. He called ministers and made a suggestion, but they did not agree. Since there is no alternative, we are preparing to conduct the examinations from March 11 as we mooted first," Andhra Pradesh HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.
The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act clearly states that common admission examinations should continue for a period of ten years, he said.
