Hyderabad: Three children were poisoned and strangulated to death allegedly by their father in Veluvarthi village of Nalgonda district on Monday.
The murder took place on Monday morning when accused C. Ramesh strangulated both his daughters Nirosha (8) and Rakshita (7) first, followed by son Jashwant (4), the police said, adding, Ramesh then wanted to commit suicide. The accused had poisoned the children on Sunday night.
All the three children died on the spot after they were strangulated.
According to police, Ramesh was reportedly frustrated with his two wives, who had left him and the children.
The murder came to light when Ramesh’s father Ramulu reached his home and tried to open the door. However, Ramesh had escaped from the clutches of his father.
Velugonda police later arrested the accused and the bodies of the three children were sent to Ramannapet Civil hospital for post-mortem.
