Father of a slain CRPF jawan dies due to ill-equipped hospital

Balbir Singh was referred another hospital but he died on the way

Jaipur: The father of a slain CRPF jawan lost his life within 24 hours of his son’s cremation because the government hospital didn’t have adequate facilities.

Shamsher Singh, who was an ASI in the CRPF, died in a grenade attack on Wednesday in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

While Shamsher was being cremated in his native village, his emotional father Balbir Singh began experiencing breathing trouble. His condition deteriorated in the evening.

The next morning, Balbir Singh complained that he was unable to breathe.

He was rushed to the government hospital in Shahjahanpur.

The doctors at the hospital did not have a nebuliser and medicines to help Balbir Singh. According to sources, the hospital originally had two nebulisers; one was stolen and the other one was not working.

One of the doctors attending on Mr Balbir Singh had his personal nebuliser but that too was not working.

Balbir Singh was referred another hospital but he died on the way.
