Andhra Pradesh makes foreign study easier
Hyderabad: Meritorious students of Andhra Pradesh can now pursue higher education in Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Russia, the Philippines, Kazakhistan and China with financial aid from the government. Earlier, the list was only limited to USA, the UK, Singapore and Australia.
The Andhra Pradesh government has made some amendments to the existing rules extending the list of countries to allow students to pursue job-oriented courses like medicine, mechanical engineering, management, advanced nursing and vocational courses.
Social welfare minister R. Kishore Babu said the scheme named “Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi” is applicable to only the SC and ST students.
“The state government will give a grant of Rs 10 lakh in two installments. Student has to avail anther Rs 5 lakh educational loan with the help of SC Corporation,” Mr Kishore Babu said.
