Sunny Leone is furious with filmmakers who’ve announced projects that she has “signed” — without any go-ahead from her. The actress feels that small-time directors/producers are trying to cash in on her fame for their B-grade projects.
The latest instance is the biopic on ’90s actress Mamta Kulkarni, whose makers alleged that Sunny was playing the lead role. Sunny has denied that she was associated with the film. The actress and her manager are now putting a legally-binding official system in place for announcing her upcoming projects.
“How can any filmmaker announce a project without Sunny’s consent? There was no concrete offer made for the Mamta Kulkarni biopic. Using her name to generate publicity for a film — that she’s hasn’t even signed — is unfair. Sunny is extremely upset and intends to take it up with the makers of the film,” said an aide of the actress. Sunny is currently wrapping up her films Leela, Mastizaade and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, and reading a few other scripts as well.
