Mumbai: The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s new film Baby is out — and the story promises to be rivetting, from this first glimpse at least. Anupam Kher (who has worked with Neeraj on all the three films he’s directed so far) has called Baby “one of the most important films on international terrorism”. “I don’t know how important it is,” says a modest Neeraj. “But we’ve done our best to be authentic and not get carried away.”
The trailer shows a group of anti-terrorist agents from India gunning for a Pakistani terror group mastermind. Says Neeraj, “We’ve done away with songs and music. There is just one song in Baby, and that is going to be used for promotional purposes.”
Baby is Akshay Kumar’s first serious role in a long time. The trailer of the film has not a hint of humour — none of the characters even cracks a smile. Neeraj says, “Let me assure you, there is comic relief in the film. Everybody is not dead serious all the time.”
