Reds abduct 3 mines officials

Police claims that the officials ventured into that area without any security

Patna: Deputy director mines safety Bipin Bihari Satiyar and deputy director mines Saket Bharti were kidnapped, along with two other mining staff, by the People liberation front of India, a naxal outfit.

According to the mining staff, the officials and two other staff members were kidnapped while they had gone for inspection of the mines on Thursday Police received the information late on Thursday after which they launched a massive raid and combing operation of Saranda Forest.

The location where the officials had gone for inspection is surrounded by Saranda Forest. The entire area is naxal infested, especially CPI (Maoist) and PLFI have their hold in the area.

“Our main agenda now is to recover the kidnapped mining officials,” said Chaibasa SP Narendra Kumar Singh.

Police claims that the officials ventured into that area without any security. “They sould have informed the police before going into the jungle which is naxal infested.” SP Narendra Kumar Singh said.

Just two days ago Chaibasa went to polls and the voters turn out was high. But now, with the kidnapping of these officials, more security deployment is expected in the state in view of the ongoing Assembly polls and regular VIP movements for campaigning.
