Pharma City on 11,000 acres at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has identified 11,000 acres at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district to set up the Pharma City.
Mr Rao carried out an aerial survey for over three hours of Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts on Wednesday along with pharmaceutical industry representatives and officials from the CMO, revenue and industries departments to find suitable locations for the Pharma City and Cinema City on the city’s outskirts.
Chiefs of pharma majors such as Dr Reddy’s, Aurobindo, Hetero etc, who accompanied the Chief Minister, expressed satisfaction with the proposed site for the mega pharma project.
Mr Rao said local pharma companies had expressed willingness to invest Rs 30,000 crore in the Pharma City and provide employment to about 70,000 people. Mr Rao also surveyed lands in Rachakonda to set up a Cinema City on 2,000 acres.
He said the Pharma City would be eco-friendly and have ample space to construct townships to house employees. A pharma university and a research institute would also be established there.
