Fatigues of the 14 CRPF martyrs found dumped in dustbin
Raipur: A day after Union home minister Rajnath Singh along with other dignitaries paid homage to 14 CRPF men, killed in Monday’s Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, fatigues of the martyrs, were on Wednesday found dumped in a dustbin near a hospital here where post-mortem of the bodies was conducted.
Fourteen pairs of bloodstained uniforms and shoes of the martyrs were lying strewn in a garbage dump behind the mortuary of the Hospital.
The manner in which the martyrs’ belongings, which could have been the precious possession of their kin, were disposed of has sparked a public outcry with people pleading the state government to be “more sensitive.”
This was the second such incident in Chhattisgarh. Three years ago, local administration in Dantewada, had arranged a garbage carrier to ferry bodies of three cops killed in encounter with Naxals, triggering a public outrage.
