CRPF personnel fail to follow the Standard Operating Procedures

Hyderabad: The Central Reserve Police Force continue to fail in countering the guerilla tactics of Peoples liberation Guerilla Army of CPI Maoists. Despite training by the AP Greyhounds, the CRPF personnel are the sitting ducks, resulting in huge losses during the attacks by Maoists.
Experts says that the CRPF personnel fail to follow the Standard Operating Procedures that has to be followed in jungle warfare. “Using the same road and not following standard operating procedures are making the CRPF personnel to fall prey to the Maoists.
In Chhattisgarh incident too they have become an easy target where their movements were known, allowing the second battalion to plan the attack,” said a senior police official of the Telangana state involved in the anti-naxal operations.
State police area asked the CRPF to adhere to the SOPs like changing the route tactics and secrecy in the movements and all other basic functioning like road opening parties to be sent ahead of the contingent moving on the particular road.
