Chennai: Passengers bound for Singapore arrived at the airport as scheduled for their flight in the morning, but it left only nine hours later. There were 161 passengers scheduled to leave at 11:30 am by the A1347 Air India Dreamliner, but the flight left several hours hours later at 8:30 pm. Officials say that the late arrival in Chennai of flight A13465 from Singapore was the cause of the delay. More than 20 passengers, unaware of this development, reached the airport in the morning.
Officials say that an email was sent to all passengers, informing them of the delay, but some may not have received it. The passengers were given a place to stay and provided refreshments. The passengers who had missed receiving the message said, “We did not receive any information on the delay. The airline must ensure better communication.”
