Following her rather long hiatus from the industry here, actress Shweta Basu Prasad has finally decided that it’s time to hit the Tollywood circuit again.
According to sources, the actress is reading scripts and rumours claim offers are being made from producers in Hyderabad. “She really wants to come back to Hyderabad, and start afresh. Age is on her side so, it shouldn’t be a problem,” a source close to the star revealed. However, the best news is perhaps from director Teja, who has confirmed that he’s offering the actress a role in a yet-to-be-titled project starting soon.
“I’m yet to formally approach her, but yes, I have a role ready,” the director told DC. Shweta, a national-award winning actress, is currently in Mumbai working with director Anurag Kashyap’s film production outfit, Phantom.
She’s also busy with a documentary film called Roots, on Indian music, which is in its post production stage. The film has interviews with several big names including Vishal Bhardwaj, A.R. Rahman, Dr L Subramaniam and singer Shubha Mudgal.
