Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders on Tuesday slammed the six-month rule of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stating that it had been full of promises without implementation, disappointing, directionless and anti-people. At separate media meetings on Tuesday, the Congress leaders “failed” the CM in his performance test.
Congress Deputy Leader in the Council, Mr Shabbir Ali, said that the TRS government appeared to be working in an installment mode and there were not even six big achievements worth mentioning in the last six months.
He cited instances wherein the TRS had completely failed to perform and said he would only give five marks out of 100 to KCR for his overall performance.
The much-hyped Intensive Household Survey too remained incomplete even after two months, he said, adding that instead of focusing on implementing the promises made in the TRS manifesto, Mr Rao had been making new promises every day.
He said that the CM promised to withdraw GO Ms. 111 to allow builings near Himayatsagar and Osmansagar.
He added that the Congress government could not take up modernisation of the Jiyaguda slaughter house as the GO was implemented by the Supreme Court.
Except for a nod by the state Cabinet, the TRS government had failed to take any concrete action to implement 12 per cent reservation for Muslims and STs.
He said there was no clarity on the legal procedure for implementation of these promises.
Although Rs 1,030 crore was allocated for Minorities Welfare, only Rs 112 crore has been released, he added.
PCC chief Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah meanwhile said there was nothing positive to say about the performance of the TRS government, which had only renamed the schemes launched during the 10-year Congress rule and stalled their implementation.
The suicides of more than 480 farmers during 180 days of KCR’s rule spoke volumes of the government’s inefficiency in handling the agriculture and power sector.
“Even in the name of enhanced the pension scheme, the beneficiaries are far fewer than those eligible, resulting in a few elder people committing suicides after being denied pension benefits,” Mr Ponnala said, adding that the people of Telangana were now repenting voting TRS to power.
