Godrej Aer launches a PUC renewal initiative
Mumbai: Observing ‘National Pollution Control Day’, Godrej Aer, a home and car fragrance brand from Godrej Consumer Products kick started a campaign to create awareness about timely renewal of PUC.
With an objective of aligning itself to the vision of a cleaner India, Godrej Aer, has taken the responsibility to create awareness amongst the citizens of India through their, ‘Change the air’ campaign.
The campaign was flagged off by the Mayor of Mumbai, Mrs. Snehal Ambekar along with Mr. Sunil Kataria, Chief Operating Officer, Sales, Marketing and SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd at the Mayors bungalow, Shivaji park.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor of Mumbai, Mrs. Snehal Ambekar said, “It is heartening to see Godrej AER taking a positive step towards alleviating the challenges of pollution in our metros. Air pollution is a serious issue that our city is grappling with and the biggest cause of air pollution is vehicles and the black smoke coming out of it, accentuated in cases when PUC is not renewed. On this occasion of world pollution control day, I would urge vehicle owners to ensure their PUC certification is regularized. Please call 7878784040 and for every 10 missed calls, Godrej aer will plant a tree”.
Commenting on initiative, Mr. Sunil Kataria, COO, Sales Marketing and SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products Limited said “Godrej Consumer Products has always strived to make the lives of consumers brighter and better. Carrying this philosophy forward, Godrej Aer has taken the initiative of creating awareness around controlling pollution levels in the city. Our insight has been that vehicular pollution is a significant challenge in our metros. Just keeping the PUC under check can alleviate this challenge. Apart from traditional outreach we have created a series of videos which will be manifested through digital media. We are also launching a PUC app to auto remind vehicle owners to renew their PUC's on time."
The program will include tying up with 6 PUC vans each in 6 key metros namely, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, wherein kiosks will be set up creating awareness on regular PUC checks. The campaign will also include a PUC alert APP that would remind people to get their PUC checks done regularly.
Additionally, three quirky digital videos have been created to engage with the consumers and create awareness about pollution without sounding preachy. You can register for the campaign on Godrej Aer’s official website.
