6 months of Modi government: Congress counts 25 Modi 'u-turns'

This is the second booklet by the Congress on the functioning of the BJP government

New Delhi: The Congress, in a booklet titled “Chhe Mahine Paar U-Turn Sarkar (Six months after, a U-turn government)” released on Monday, virtually cornered the Narendra Modi government for flip flops on 25 key issues in the last six months.

AICC general secretary Ajay Maken released the 30-page booklet, which deals with issues like China, Pakistan, direct benefit transfer, Aadhaar, insurance Bill, Henderson Brooks report on the 1962 war, CAG, rail fares, clean politics, Article 370, and banning Rs 1,000 currency notes.

The booklet claims, “The Modi government increasingly appears to disarm the people of information, its propaganda machinery has only one goal hide facts, tell stories.”

Dubbing the Narendra Modi dispensation a “U-turn sarkar”, it projected it as a “farce” in the name of government while accusing it of “umpteen somersaults” on a range of promises. Mr Maken accused the government of resorting to “white lies”.

This is the second booklet by the Congress on the functioning of the BJP government. The first one was brought out on the completion of NDA’s 100 days.
