Chennai: Filmmaker Priyadarshan and yesteryear actress-turned-entrepreneur Lissy who were married for 24 years have decided to part ways.
According to a press statement released by Lissy “It is with profound sadness that I am announcing that I and Sri Priyadarshan have decided to separate after 24 years of marriage. I filed for divorce today in the Chennai family court. Both our children and close friends are aware of the decision. As you can imagine it is a very difficult period in our lives and I request all of you to respect our privacy.”
Though the exact reason for their split is not known, speculations are rife that money issues and some special friendship outside marriage had strained their relationship. Priyadarshan was not available for comment despite a few attempts. The couple’s daughter Kalyani and son Siddharth are pursuing studies in the US.
