Lovers from Kerala found hanging
BENGALURU: A 25 year old man and a 22 year-old woman, who were suspected to be in love, were found hanging in a lodge in Cottonpet police limits on Monday afternoon.
The deceased Jijesh and Shinu were from Palakkad in Kerala. The incident took place in Radhakrishna Lodge on Cottonpet Main Road.
They came to the city early on Monday morning and booked a room in the lodge around 4.30 am. They had told the lodge staff that they were in the city to write railway department exams and would check out by Monday afternoon.
When the hotel staff knocked on the room door at 10 am to give them breakfast, there was no response and the staff thought they could be still sleeping.
The police said, “As they did not come out till evening, the staff got suspicious and informed us. We broke open the room door to find both of them hanging from the ceiling.
They had not left behind any suicide note and except their names and place of origin, we do not have more details.
The preliminary investigation, however, revealed that their parents had filed a missing complaint at a police station in Kerala.”
The police suspect that the two might have committed suicide as their parents were opposed to their relationship. “The reason will be known only after we question their parents,” the police said.
The bodies were shifted to the Victoria Hospital mortuary for postmortem. A case has been registered at Cottonpet police station.
