WATCH: This anti-harassment video will leave you feeling 'Ashamed'

The video asks- what if the victim is one of your own?

Mumbai: The Internet is flooded with anti-harassment videos and clips of women being assaulted by men on the road. There are plenty of videos that aim at creating awareness and empowering women against eve teasing. The latest one that took the Internet by storm was Director Vikas Bahl's Going Home where Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt tried to spread awareness about women's safety on roads. And now a new short film has surfaced which has a completely different take on the same issue.

Watch the video here:

Titled, 'Ashamed’ the short film potrays four men sharing a beer in a dingy lane when they suddenly see a woman passing by who catches their attention. The men decide to follow her and end up teasing her. While she was being harassed, she tries to escape and suddenly one of the men sees her face and stands aghast. The man realises that the victim is his own sister and cannot look her in the eye. T
he film-maker has tried to convey that men realise the impacts of eve-teasing only when one of their own is a victim.
The video has garnered a lot of attention on social media, and raises valid questions. While on one hand it questions the misogynistic attitude of our society it also points out that we care only when it comes to our family and not women at large. Viewers commented that this perspective often
contributes to crimes against women and does not deter it.
The shocking end to the video leaves us with a lot of questions and that is where it succeeds. It will make you think.
