Jammu and Kashmir sarpanch shot by suspected militants, dies in hospital
Srinagar: Suspected militants gunned down a sarpanch in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night.
The gunmen stopped Mohammad Sultan Bhat’s car, near his residence and shot at him from a close range, according to police. The incident took place at 9:30 pm.
He was immediately rushed to hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
In a series Chief Minister Omar Abdullah raised concerned over the gaps in the security grid.
