Unique rose show hosted in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The 3rd Regional Convention of World Federation of Rose Societies (Central Asia) kick started at Hyderabad International Convention Center on Saturday afternoon and is scheduled to conclude on December 2.
Jahan Aara, one of the delegates and a member of the organising committee, says, “The previous conventions were held at Japan and Malaysia, and this time it's here in the city.
There are more than 1,000 varieties of roses and delegates from not just across the country but even the USA, Australia, Switzerland, Singapore etc.”
On the first day of the show, many flower arrangements were done by the members who arrived as early as 5.30 am at the venue.
“Around 30 acres of land was devoted to growing 30,000 plants for the convention. And around 800 delegates, including foreign nationals, have registered,” said Ahmed Alam Khan, who is known for his great passion for plants.
“The members, have showcased around 50 varieties of flower arrangements,” said Rekha Reddy, the vice-president of Ikebana International.
