Fisherman's boat developed technical snag and drifted toward island nation
Vedaranyam: Three, stranded Indian fishermen were rescued by Sri Lankan fishermen after their boat developed a technical snag and drifted towards the island nation on Friday. Sources said they were safe and will return to Tamil Nadu by Tuesday.
Fishermen A. Kaliappan (30) of Vellapallam fishing hamlet, in Nagapattinam district, Jothimani (35) of Thandavarayanpet, in Cuddalore district, and Kalidoss (38) of Pushpavanam in Nagapattinam district, ventured into the sea on a fibreglass boat from Pushpavanam coast on Wednesday and were expected to return on Thursday. The Lankan fishermen, who saw the stranded TN fishermen, extended a helping hand by providing food and towed their boat to Sri Lanka.
