Cinema city: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao plans aerial survey
He will assess the availability of government lands in Rachakonda
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will undertake an aerial survey on Wednesday to assess the availability of government lands in Rachakonda, Mucherla and Amanagul in Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts.
The government asked collectors and senior revenue officials to visit these areas on Sunday to make arrangements for the tour. It may be recalled that Mr Rao had planned to set up the mega Cinema City spread over 2,000 acres near the city to give a fillip to the cinema and TV industry in Telangana. The government had been scouting for suitable land for this.
The officials had proposed that the Rachakonda hillocks located on Nalgonda-Ranga Reddy border would be suitable to set up the Cinema City as Shamshabad Airport is just 25 km away and the site lies along NH-65 and ORR. Besides, it is very near to Ramoji Film City, which is less than 10 km away.
Rachakonda is spread over 35,000 acres and the land belongs to the government. The area is already famous for film shoots. Tollywood films like Gabbar Singh, Rebel and Mahesh Babu starrer Aagadu were shot here.
