Income Tax raid finds big haul from CM Mayawati aide
Lucknow: An income tax raid at the residences of Noida Authority’s engineer in chief Yadav Singh and his wife, Kusumlata, a director of Meenu Crea-tions, a designer clothes manufacturer, has reportedly yielded a rich haul.
According to sources, the I-T officials who conducted the raid that ended late on Thursday night have found Rs 10 crore cash, one Audi car worth Rs 90 lakh and nearly 2 kg diamonds worth over Rs 100 crore from Mr Singh’s possession.
The Rs 10 crore cash was recovered from his car and had been stashed in eight bags.
Nearly 130 officers and staffers of the IT department, along with an equal number of policemen, were involved in the operations that were carried out at 20 locations in Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi.
Mr Singh, known as the blue eyed boy of former CM Mayawati, also wielded clout in the Samajwadi regime. He had executed all infrastructure projects in Noida during the BSP regime.
Mr Singh was suspended after the SP came to power in 2012 after being charged with irregularities and fund embezzlement.
