Nafisa Ali speaks about her son, her life, shopping plans in Hyderabad and more
Hyderabad: Nafisa Ali is visiting Hyderabad after several years, and finds that she loves the city as much as she did the first time she visited. On Friday, Nafisa was awarded for her social work that also includes her work in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness and care.
The actress and politician seems to have taken a break from work and by her own admission is finally at a place she loves. “I’ve always wanted a home surrounded by nature and my dream came true when I bought a home in Uttarakhand. The peace that my home brings me is something that I can’t get enough of!” Nafisa says.
Nafisa would visit Hyderabad regularly especially during her tenure as the chairperson for the International Children’s Film Festival of India, “I have a connection with the city. Despite my schedule, whenever I visit Hyderabad, I make it a point to go around. I love the charm of the old city and I always go there, even if it is for a walk,” she says adding that she’d pick up a lot of pearls for her children and grandchildren.
The actress, who was last seen in a movie in 2010, says she has no plans of returning to the silver screen, “I’ll tell you something, I’m terribly shy when it comes to dialogue delivery, but I would still try my best and I managed. But, I think it’s time to take a break, and now my son Ajit will follow in my footsteps,” she says.
Her son Ajit Sood is debuting in B-town with J.P Dutta’s film, opposite J.P’s daughter Nidhi. Nafisa says, “He was supposed to work with J.P in Border 2, but the film didn’t work out. But now his film Jee Bhar Ke Jeele is in the post-production stage.” Before Ajit got into films, Nafisa made sure he had a sound education.
“After his Bachelors of Business from Monash University, Australia. I told him that he could choose whatever he wanted to do and he chose films,” she says adding, “During shootings, I would look into the monitor and tell him how he could improve. I hope the Bollywood industry loves him as much as it loved me.”
