Larsen & Toubro yet to get letter from Telangana state
No formal letter for changing the alignment of Metro Rail
Hyderabad: No formal letter for changing the alignment of Metro Rail was issued by the Telangana government to L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd on Wednesday. Instead, L&T managing director V.B. Gadgil was called for “discussions” and the change in alignment was “verbally proposed”.
A senior officer of Hyderabad Metro Rail said, “There have been discussions between the government and the concessionaire about the proposed changed route. Now it is for the HMR and L&T to study the technical feasibility of the route. Every turn and curvature has to be studied. As it is a rail alignment, the requirement of space and the distance from existing structures has to be taken into account.”
N.V.S Reddy, MD of Hyderabad Metro Rail, said, “There will be a lot of discussions as the government has now given a route map to L&T. These are verbal discussions and will continue as technical knowledge is required for the changed route.”
