Departments send proposals for funds
AP had asked the Centre for more than Rs 1 lakh crore
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has told the police department that it will not be able to allot it 500 acres in the capital, but it would be allotted land elsewhere. The government has asked the police department to mention the cost of land as Rs 10 lakh per acre in its proposal.
The AP information and public relations department, meanwhile, has sent a proposal stating that it needs an acre to construct the press academy building. Other departments are also busy preparing their proposals.
The AP government had asked the Centre for more than Rs 1 lakh crore for construction of buildings but the Centre has asked for department-wise breakdowns. After all the departments submit their proposals, the state government will send the collated report to the Centre.
Meanwhile, the state government has appointed finance department principal secretary P.V. Ramesh as nodal officer to deal with the Centre to get funds as per the State Reorganisation Act.
AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu realised that instead of sending officers from each department to the Centre to ask for funds, it would be better to make a single person in-charge of getting the funds.
Mr Ramesh left for New Delhi on Tuesday night.
