A chit fund firm allegedly cheated its investors of Rs 53 lakh
Hyderabad: A chit fund firm allegedly cheated its investors of Rs 53 lakh at Surya Nagar in Alwal. The victims lodged a complaint on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as K. Venkatesh and K. Padma.
Police said the accused floated Jagruthi Chit Funds, collected about Rs 1 lakh each from 53 persons and went absconding. A case under Section 420 was registered. A search was launched to nab the accused.
"They went absconding with the money 10 days ago. The victims who found them missing searched for them in vain. After realising that they were duped they approached us," said SI B. Ram Babu.
