Privacy Basics offers interactive guides to answer the most commonly asked questions about how you can control your information on Facebook.
For example, you can learn about untagging, unfriending, blocking and how to choose an audience for each of your posts. This information is available in 36 languages.
Money transactions and online shopping:
Facebook is currently working on creating its new ‘Buy button’ that will help you purchase products without leaving Facebook. It also claims that Facebook users might soon be able to make transactions more conveniently.
Share your location and get information about what’s interesting around:
If Facebook users decide to share their location online, it plans to help you with menus from restaurants nearby.
Ad preference:
Your ad preferences are based on information you’ve shared with Facebook, Pages you like or engage with, ads you click on, apps and websites you use, and information from our data providers and advertisers. ‘Ad preference’, a new tool accessible from every ad on Facebook will explain why you’re seeing a specific ad and allow you to add and remove interests that we use to show you ads.
