Junior doctorss to go on strike in Vizag

Around 500 junior doctors will participate in the strike
Visakhapatnam: The junior doctors have decided to go on strike from Wednesday as the government has denied implementing their demands. Around 500 junior doctors will participate in the strike and they are blaming the government for not keeping up to the promise which was given to them last year.
The Vizag Junior Doctors Association has already served the notice to the principal of the Andhra medical college, Dr S. V. Kumar, and informed that they would go on strike from Wednesday. They are demanding to withdraw the clause of one year service in rural areas, but the state government has recently denied this demand. As a result they are going to keep away from the regular duties, except emergency services.
The AP JUDA spokesperson, Dr K. Tanuj said, “We are not against the government’s regulations. Let them give priority to the doctors who are working in rural areas at the time of recruitment of assistant professors. From Wednes-day we will stage dharnas at all teaching hospitals and start signature campaigns.”
The superintendent of KGH, Dr M. Madhusudan Babu said we are ready to face any emergency situation that arises due to the strike. We are going to deploy the service of PG students in all departments. At present we have more than 50 PG students in our hospital and we will utilise the services of AMC staff also.
