Indian Islamic State volunteers seek exit

Information shared by Central agencies indicated their willingness to return

New Delhi: Four youth from Kalyan in Maharashtra, who had allegedly gone to join the Islamic State, want to return, Union home ministry sources said. The Centre is keeping a watch on them after information shared by Central agencies indicated their willingness to return. The threat posed by the IS, both in radicalising Indian youth and using cyberspace to propogate their agenda, will be discussed threadbare at the DGP conference chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the weekend. Of the four youth, one is in Turkey, the three others are in Iraq, near around Mosul.

Sources said Areeb, Aman Naeem Tandel, Fahad Tanveer Shaikh and Sahim Farooq Tanki, were all in their early 20s. The family of one of the youth had approached the NIA.
