CM K Chandrasekhar Rao approves 24x7 crisis centres

He has accorded sanction to set up unique 24X7 one-stop crisis centres
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has accorded sanction to set up unique 24X7 one-stop crisis centres in each district by the end of December to redress the grievances of women.
This was disclosed by senior IAS official Poonam Malakondaiah. There will be one centre for every district and three centres in capital city are being set up. “These centres will redress the grievances of children and women in distress due to any atrocity,” Ms Malakondaiah said.
Women are not comfortable approaching the police stations to lodge complaints. Often they are treated shabbily wh-en they are taken to hospitals for tests. The one-stop crisis centres will be the solution to these problems, she added.
“Each centre will have a counsellor, a lady advocate, police personnel headed by a lady deputy SP, a representative from Women and Child Welfare department and a doctor with a lab for exa-mination and treament,” Ms Malakondaiah said.
