China to aid high speed rail
Chinese firm Eryuann has already been awarded the work of conducting feasibility study
New Delhi: China is all set to conduct feasibility study of the proposed New Delhi-Chennai high speed rail corridor. Besides, a Chinese firm Eryuann has already been awarded the work of conducting feasibility study for Mysuru-Chennai-Bengaluru semi-high speed rail corridor.
A delegation of the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, a subsidiary of the Indian railways for developing high speed rail system, is in China to hold talks on a likely agreement. During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the country, India had decided to partner with China on exploring the possibility of developing another high speed rail corridor, besides Ahmedabad-Mumbai for which Japan is conducting a feasibility study. Meanwhile, China has shown interest to conduct the study at its own cost.
