Karnataka finalises appointees in consultation with Congress high command
Bengaluru: The state government has secretly finalised the names of candidates for various boards and corporations in consultation with the Congress party high command.
Though no official confirmation was available, the tentative list which was circulated among the media has about 20 names. Though the Chief Minister’s office claims that the CM has finalised 45 names, only about 20 names have entered the public domain.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar had made several trips to Delhi to finalise the names for the coveted posts for which there were several thousand aspirants.
During their last visit, the Congress top brass sent a clear signal that MLAs and former legislators should be kept out of the list and the posts be given to party workers who had toiled for the Congress for long. This was considered a blow for the CM’s camp as they wanted MLAs in these posts, said sources.
