We’re gagged: Telugu Desam leaders to Speaker Madhusudhana Chary
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam has lodged a series of complaints to Assembly Speaker Madhusudhan Chary against the TRS government for trying to gag the MLAs.
It has also demanded immediate disqualification of the MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Teegala Krishna Reddy and Dharma Reddy who had defected to the TRS.
The TD has also asked the Speaker to permit two TD MLAs in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meet instead of the present one.
It has also urged the Speaker to allow TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy to speak in the House.
The Speaker reportedly ruled out the permission of allotting two TD MLAs in the BAC, while stating that the ruling party members demanded an apology from Mr Revanth Reddy for “misleading the House”.
“We have not been allowed to air our views freely on power, survey, farmers’ suicides, DLF land issue among others. We moved a privilege motion against the minister comparing us to nominated Anglo Indian MLAs,” the petition added.
The MLAs, including L. Ramana, E. Dayakar Rao, Narsa Reddy, R. Krishnaiah, A. Revanth Reddy and others pointed out in their two-page petition the series of events unfolding the present Assembly Session and the attempts of the government to gag the TD MLAs.
