N Chinna Rajappa brings up Paritala Ravindra case

Paritala Ravindra was shot dead in broad daylight

ANANTAPUR: Paritala Ravindra’s murder case has come into the limelight again after Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister and home minister N. China Rajappa hinted at checking all possibilities to reopen the case after a discussion in the Cabinet meeting.

A group of leaders, including district ministers, briefed Mr Rajappa about the incident during his visit to Paritala Ghaut in Venkatapuram village of Ramagiri mandal on Monday.

Mr Rajappa, accompanied by district ministers Paritala Sunitha and Palle Raghunatha Reddy, paid tribute at Paritala Ravindra’s grave

“After holding discussions with the Cabinet, we will explore all possibilities to reopen this case,” Mr Rajappa said.

Mr Rajappa alleged that Paritala Ravindra was killed by the then Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy government in power in 2005 to eliminate strong leadership in the Telugu Desam.

Paritala Ravindra was shot dead in broad daylight while coming out of the party office in Anantapur on January 24, 2005.

YSR Congress chief Y.S, Jagan Mohan Reddy, whose name was also among the accused in the case, was exonerated.

Since the TD has come to power, a section of leaders have been mounting pressure on the government to reopen the case against Mr Jagan Reddy.
