Denied nod to talk, MIM walks out of Assembly

MIM wasn’t allowed to participate in the discussion

Hyderabad: The MIM legislators on Monday walked out of the Assembly accusing the government of ill treating the party in the House.

The party was peeved at not being allowed to participate in the discussion on unemployment.

MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said it was the first time in the history of the Assembly that the government wasn’t allowing its friendly parties to talk.

Refuting minister T. Harish Rao’s argument that speakers in the debate were pre-decided, Mr Owaisi said he would resign if that was true.

Speaker S. Madhusudhan Chary closed the subject of unemployment on Monday after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao responded.

However, the MIM wasn’t allowed to participate in the discussion, since it wasn’t a signatory to the prior submitted discussion notice.

“You can’t even give us one minute to speak. On the issue of power sharing between TS and AP, everyone was allowed to speak, but today only a few have been allowed, because it is convenient for the government,” Mr Owaisi said.
