All Assembly segments will be developed at Rs 1,000 crore
Bengaluru: Infrastructure in all the 28 Assembly segments in the city will be improved at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore under Nagarothan scheme, said district in-charge and transport minister Ramalinga Reddy on Monday.
Flagging off a slew of infrastructure projects at the Gandhinagar constituency and inspecting a few roads in the constituency, Mr Reddy said that priority will be accorded to developmental works in all the constituencies including overall improvement of junctions across the city.
The Subedar Chatram Road, from Ananda Rao Circle to Seshadripuram, will be developed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore. The road suffered extensive damage during monsoon and also two BMTC buses were marooned under the railway overbridge on the road.
The stretch from Dhanvantari road till Seshadripuram signal will be developed at a cost of Rs 4.62 crore, while Ananda Rao flyover will be given black topping at a cost of Rs 54 lakh. Work will begin soon after the tendering process is over.
To avoid digging of roads frequently by different agencies, utility ducts will be provided to carry OFC, Bescom, gas line and other utilities. Expansion joints on flyovers will be maintained scientifically and all thee works should be completed in the next three months, he said.
