Strong mind is PM’s strength, says Finance Minister Arun Jaitley

Mr Jaitley said the Prime Minister’s “real strength is his strong mind, like that of great sportspersons”. He is “extremely hardworking” and “activity oriented” and he “carries forward his agenda of development despite contrary views, make him virtually unmatched in the political arena.”

Writing in an article on his Facebook page, Mr Jaitley said that following the Prime Minister’s visit to Burma, Australia and Fiji, India’s status among the nations of the world appears to have been enhanced.

“Both India and our Prime Minister were at the centrestage in the G-20 meet at Brisbane. What better recognition should there be of India’s enhanced stature than (US) President (Barack) Obama agreeing to be the chief guest of India at our Republic Day parade,” Mr Jaitley wrote.

Charging that Congress was planning strategies to “block” official business and legislation in Parliament, Mr Jaitley said, “The Congress had damaged the economy while in power and wants to pursue the same destructive direction while in the Opposition.”
