TRS government to enable their presentation in the Assembly this week

Hyderabad: A rare Cabinet meeting was held by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday evening at the Secretariat in the midst of the ongoing Legislative Assembly Session.

The meeting held from 5 pm to 8 pm was conducted to clear crucial pending Bills and policies of the TRS government to enable their presentation in the Assembly this week.

Though the Cabinet met on November 5, it could approve only the state budget on that day and the crucial bills like new industrial policy, sand policy, women safety etc were kept on hold as the officials failed to prepare those drafts.

The government which is determined to secure the approval of House for all the pending bills in this session itself, had extended the session from November 22 to November 29.

The Cabinet on Sunday passed Women Safety Bill, which will be enacted in the Legislature this week incorporating stringent punishment for perpetrators of crimes against women.

The Act mandates setting up of women police stations in every division in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits and in all district and mandal headquarters.

The Cabinet on Sunday decided to allot Rs 100 crore for cleaning of Hussainsagar lake on a war footing basis.

A special chasing cell will be set in CMO to track the approval process on a day to day basis. A new sand policy aimed at checking illegal sand mining has been approved.

The cabinet also approved setting up of Telangana Board of Intermediate Education and Telangana State Council of Higher Education.

A separate corporation each for implementing water grid project and for restoration of roads in urban and rural areas has been approved.
