Seemandhra officials face heat for land NOCs

Several lands that were in litigation were given clearances and NoCs

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is likely to frame legal charges against a few Seemandhra officials, similar to those against a labour commissioner who was charged for alleged misappropriation in fund transfer.

Certain revenue officials, it is believed, had given clearances and NOCs for government lands in litigation) to private individuals against all norms and conditions.

The premium pieces of lands, mostly in and around Hyderabad, were given clearances against norms prior to bifurcation of the state (during February May) in a hush hush manner.

The Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district administration officials are set to examine transactions or mutations (registration of properties and conferring ownership rights on the purchaser) from January to June to track such irregularities.

“Several lands that were in litigation were given clearances and NoCs,” said an official with the RR district collectorate, adding, “In certain cases, even the survey number of the land in the litigation was changed without appropriate procedure.

All these mutations were affected during the month of May. However, a report has been submitted to the collector in this regard.”

Some of mutations were affected in Shamshabad mandal limits. A 10-acre land piece in Madenapally Survey No. 50/1 was given to a freedom fighter by the government in 1980 by issuing a certificate no. B2/10451/1980.

In order to take up development on the allotted land, the Ranga Reddy district administration also issued a NoC through a letter 6380/2006.

However, when the applicant sought to change the Survey No. stating mistakes in the certificate, the local MRO changed the Survey No. 50/2 on May 29, 2014.

Interestingly, the land was registered the same day. However, one Laxmaiah, who was allotted four acres of land in same Survey No. 50/2, is now in a tizzy, said a revenue department official.
