Post Japan, Cabinet shuffle likely

CM may reshuffle the Cabinet after returning from his Japan tour
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu may reshuffle the Cabinet after returning from his Japan tour. Sources close to the CM said he is not happy with the performance of some ministers.
Sources close to the CM said he may change the home, agriculture, mines, and social welfare portfolios. They said that Mr Naidu will observe the performance of the ministers for one year, and if they do not improve their performance, he may reshuffle the Cabinet again. Many senior MLAs in the Telugu Desam are waiting for Cabinet berths.
Sources said that the CM has a soft corner for deputy CM Chinna Rajappa, but he feels that the performance of the home department is not up to his expectations. The home department might be appointed to another minister.
Social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu created a storm when he said the TD will review its alliance with the BJP. Mr Naidu had sought an explanation for his statement. Mr Naidu had also expressed his displeasure with agriculture minister Prattipati Pulla Rao for not having information about his department.
Mr Naidu also received complaints about some ministers over transfer of state staff.
Singapore delayed Vizag project:
Though Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu is keen on taking Singapore’s help in building the AP capital, the Vizag Urban Development Authority here is yet to get over its bitter experience with Singapore government’s JTC Corporation’s Indian subsidiary Jurong Infrastructure (I) Pvt. Ltd which backed off from a housing project midway.
The much-hyped Singapore township-Haritha project at Madhurawada was given to Jurong Infrastructure (I) Pvt. Ltd in 2009. The works were supposed to be completed by 2011.
But Jurong backed off from the project asking for escalation of agreed contract price without any progress in work. Hence, Vuda was forced to take up the project on its own. The allottees are yet to be handed over the flats even after five years.
Vuda has alleged that Jurong violated the agreement, and with nothing positive coming out of a series of negotiations or notices given to accelerate work, the contract was terminated.
After a local court dismissed Jurong’s petition seeking a direction to the Vuda not to assign the construction to a third party, Vuda cancelled its agreement with the company.
Vuda Harita allottees association president Prof. Ghan Buktha said, “We have lost money as the project has been delayed by more than three years. There are also design changes. I don’t know how it is taking shape now.”
