Massive search operation in Hyderabad to flush out criminals
Hyderabad: With a view to check criminal activities in the city, over 450 police personnel participated in a massive cordon and search operation to locate criminals and suspects at Hasnanagar area here in the early hours on Sunday.
During the operation, two alleged pickpockets identified as Md Muneer and Md Mohsin, a 'rowdy-sheeter' S K Masthan and an ex-convict in Arms Act Md Younus were taken into custody, a release said.
Apart from them, 14 suspected persons were taken into custody for questioning to verify their antecedents, the release said, adding that 65 motorcycles and 15 autos that had been stolen were also confiscated.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad Zone) K Ramesh Naidu and other senior police officers led the operation which was based on information that 45 criminals are residing at Hasnanagar under Rajendranagar police station limits, the release said.
The operation was launched on directions from Cyberabad police commissioner C V Anand following Telangana government's decision to provide a sense of security to people with "world- class policing".
The Cyberabad police, which has been for the past several months carrying out such massive search and cordon operations, will continue the same in Cyberabad limits to check criminals and criminal shelters with a view to induce a sense of security to the citizens of Cyberabad Commissionerate limits, the release added.
