Himanta Biswa Sarma and Anjan Dutta summoned for questioning in Kolkata
Guwahati: The CBI, probing the Saradha scam, has summoned two former ministers and Congress MLAs of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma and Anjan Dutta for questioning in Kolkata.
Disclosing that two former ministers of the Gogoi cabinet has been asked to appear before the probe agency in between November 24 to 26 of this month at the CBI office in Kolkata, sources said that CBI may book at least one of them on charges of taking ‘protection money’ from the chit fund company.
Informing that investigation was taking place under the supervision of the apex court, sources said that the two high-profile ex-ministers of the Gogoi cabinet have also contacted their legal counsels for legal relief in case of arrest.
The CBI on Friday arrested Trinamul’s Rajya Sabha Srinjoy Bose, on suspicion of involvement in the Saradha scam.
