Mumbai: Sundar Raman, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was alleged to have exchanged 350 phone calls with bookies in one IPL season, according to sources.

The complaint to the Supreme Court appointed Justice Mukul Mudgal panel was made by one of the former senior BCCI officials during his deposition before the panel, said sources.
However, during investigation (for 350 phone-calls) by B.B.Mishra, the key member of the Mudgal committee, only eight call-conversations between Sundar Raman and bookies came into light, it is learnt here.

Interestingly, in the recent Emergency Working Committee Meeting of the BCCI, the members have decided to back Sundar Raman. But Sundar Raman, if denies this charges (having conversations with bookies etc.) before the Supreme Court on Monday, it is bound to be challenged by the Mudgal committee, added sources.
Sundar Raman's conversations have not been tape-recorded but Mumbai police is likely to have the mobile phone records. Of course, these records merely don't prove his involvement in betting and fixing the matches.

As per the sources, the identity of the complainant is not known but during his deposition before B.B.Mishra, Sundar Raman did ask to know the name. Obviously, it could not have been revealed.
The ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) had no records of Sundar Raman's call-details, it is also learnt here.
