Andhra Pradesh capital: 50 per cent pooled land to be utilised for facilities

Hyderabad: Under the land pooling scheme, 50 per cent of the total land will be reserved for various purposes like roads, parks and other things.

Only 50 per cent in the total pooling land will be shared by government and land owners. Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked the land for various purposes in the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority draft bill.

In the Section 29 of the draft bill, the government mentioned how much land would be reserved for what purpose.

An extent of 10 per cent of the total pooled land will be reserve for parks, playgrounds, gardens and open spaces. The land for roads and utility services will be 30 per cent, 5 per cent will be reserve for social amenities like school, dispensaries and other community facilities and another 5 per cent will be for providing affordable housing for economically weaker sections of the society.

Depending on the nature and requirement of the development, the CRDA may use the allotted land for the sectors of Capital area development or for residential or commercial or public or semi-public or any other purposes as may be approved by the authority.

The draft bill says that the percentage of the allotment of land, as specified reservations for roads, parks and other things while preparing the land pooling scheme depend upon the nature of existing and proposed development, sanctioned spatial development plan and infrastructure development plan or area development plan or action plan or zonal development plan and for the reasons to be recorded in writing.
